Holiday Events!
One of the best parts of the holiday season are the events you just don’t find any other time of year. I’m fully engrossed in spiked eggnog and ugly sweaters but some people need an extra boost. So if you’re close to saying “Bah, humbug,” check out some of these local events to revive your spirits.
This Sunday, December 16, check out the City of Charleston holiday parade! Put on by the city’s fire and police departments there’s sure to be a Santa sighting and maybe even some reindeer.
The Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park might be my absolute favorite. Feel like a kid all over again while marveling at lights representing local businesses and sights. There’s also a holiday village with ornament shop, s’mores station and Santa’s sleigh.
The College of Charleston hosts Cougar Night Lights in the Cistern Yard at the corner of George St. and St. Phillips St. Enjoy a light show every hour on the hour from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Charleston Sleigh Ride is a carol filled boat ride through the Charleston Harbor. Running from December 20 through Christmas, this is a byob experience to enjoy the holiday with family and friends.
