Maintaining Motivation

The shininess of the new year has begun to wane. In an effort to keep the momentum I wanted to share one of my favorite ways to maintain motivation. Customized lock screens. The lock screen of your cell phone is an amazingly simple way to remind yourself of your intentions.

My current lock screen wallpaper is a quote I happened across on Instagram. I work from home where I need ALL the encouragement to accomplish things. I often view procrastination as something that doesn’t affect anyone but myself. Having this reminder allows me to realize that putting things off is hazardous to myself.

This is just my bible quote. It serves as a reminder that God is in control.

I recently finished The Series of Unfortunate Events while I was working on this blog post and this quote stood out. Now is the best time to start any adventure.

This quote has followed me throughout various tasks in my life. It’s basically “fake it ‘til you make it” with a more positive spin. Anything worth doing deserves your full attention and enthusiasm. Nonchalance can feel easier when completing a task that your heart isn’t completely in, but enthusiasm yields better results.
